Taking the reigns of Blue Heron Soap Company in March 2020 was a risk worth taking. After many meetings with Peggy Breedlove Gerard (Blue Heron's Founder), my husband and 4 children were excited to begin a new chapter. With a BA in Chemistry from the University of MN Morris, 15 years as a personal and business coach, and 3 years working on a startup company many aspects of owning Blue Heron Soap Company feel right--like details from past experience are daily coming into play. I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow and create for you and your family and friends healthy, handmade, sustainable soap for years to come.
Building on the formulas developed and scents curated by Peggy since 1996, last year we created a new line of soaps without palm oil and zero waste. Now more than ever, we realize the importance of creating sustainable products and business practices to care for, protect and steward our environment. To that end, we are committed and hope you and your households will join us. In 2021 we are phasing out plastic packaging, and adopting a clear compostable bag made of cellulose fiber to replace it as a customer option.
Our business is built on relationships, old and new. If you've been a customer of Blue Heron for years thank you, and if you are a recent customer, welcome. We rely on your reviews, recommendations, and kind words, gifts to friends, visits to our booths, shares of our social posts. If you haven't had a chance yet, introduce yourselves at future in-person opportunities, write a review about us, and please know we are here to help. Reach out to us on our contact us page anytime! Looking forward to meeting you in person soon!
